About the Journal

Historical Journal Mizoram is an official publication of Mizo History Association. The Journal is published annually. It publishes original research works by scholars from all discipline. It is a peer-reviewed journal with an ISSN No. 0976-0202. It is published in hard copy.

The MHA published the first edition of the journal in 1982 as a private circulation since the association did not get permission from the Registration of Newspaper of India (RNI) as yet. the journal was published without RNI permission till its seventh edition. It was then registered in RNI, New Delhi with a registration number of MIZBIL/2000/2056 on September 23, 2000. An ISSN number for the journal was acquired in the year 2010.

From the year 2000, as required by RNI, the publication of the journal was given a new volume number, starting from Volume I Issue No. 1. The current volume in 2018 is Volume XIX.

For the last 19 years, history, practices and issues relating to Mizos and Mizoram have been covered widely by the journal. The journal has been an important platform for researchers and scholars while it also provides a good historical source for those who are interested in the history of the Mizos.
